Using nail polish and glue gun to insulate conductive fabric and conductive thread respectively.
The idea is to make a firefly that glows when the wings touch to complete the circuit.
Materials Needed
Colorful Fabric
Nail Polish to match the color of the wings
Beads/Glitter for eyes (optional)
Conductive Fabric (Iron on)
Iron
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors
Thread
Conductive Thread
Needles
Yellow LED
Resistor
Coin Battery
Step 1: Cut out the firefly shapes
Step 2: Cut out conductive fabric and iron onto the wings
Step 3: Insulate the lower part of the wing
Step 4: Create a circuit with the LED, battery, resistor and the wings form the switch on the other side of the cloth
Step 5: Stitch on the wings using conductive thread to complete the circuit on the other side of the cloth
Step 6: Once the wings are on use nail polish to cover intersection of wing and cloth
Step 7: Use the glue gun to insulate the conductive thread
The firefly is now ready
Press the wings together to make it glow!
